The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) announced the recipients of this year’s 1906 Award, which commemorates the IEC’s year of foundation and recognizes technical experts whose exceptional involvement in IEC activities has brought about significant advancements in standardization. Phil Beauchamp of General Electric was among the awardees for his outstanding participation in IEC TC114. Phil has served as the U.S. Subject Matter Expert on the Terminology Project Team since its inception and recently has been promoted to Co-Convener of the group. He has worked diligently to ensure that all documents produced by TC114 are using consistent terminology. We thank Phil for his continued efforts and congratulate him on this prestigious award.
